Is there a way of timing your searches

Postby Evad » Thu Jun 06, 2013 1:47 am

I have Forms Experience Builder going in the environment and it has some scary LDAP search routines that I need to check before letting it go ahead.

In it you can setup a base search that according to the FEB SME will do things like
(&(uid=xxx)(sn=*)(givenname=*)(mail=*)(any other attribute that has been added to the base=*))

Now I do not know if the search optimiser in the LDAP will just say that this search is the same as (uid=xxx) and ignore
all the rest.

So I want to try and test and time the searches to see if there is any impact.

So is there a timer in Softera that I can turn on?

LDAP Administrator doesn't have a timer functionality built-in. However if you use a Directory Search dialog for search purposes, you will be able to review the operation's time after procedure is completed. So, I think, you can perform searches with different search filters and compare the results.
