I just installed the application and I try to add a new profile. The following step sequence causes the application to end without any sort of error message:

- Start LDAP Admin 3.3.1 (demo)
- Delete the "Internet Public Server" entry
- Select New -> New Profile
- Specify the profile name
- Click "Fetch Base DNs"
- I selected "DC=vmdev,DC=local"
- Click Next
- And just wait and do nothing. After 2-3 minutes, LDAP Admin will terminate all by itself. No error message, no popup.

I'm logged on as Adminitrator on a Windows Server 2003 SP1 whose forest and domain functionality level is set to 2003. vmdev.local is the first domain of the forest.

I just found out that the Application event log had many Error entries. One for each time I tried LDAP Admin and it failed on me. The entries all have the following message:

Faulting application ldapadmin.exe, version 3.3.1.1461, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x0116a2d8.

What kind of directory server you connect to? Did you make an server profile adjustments? Is there a chance for us to connect to your server to take what is going wrong?

We've just released version 3.4. Can you test it please?

It will not be possible for you to connect remotely for security reasons and also because the server is running as a VMware guest on a host computer whose IP address is not accessible from the internet.

The OS where LDAP Admin 3.3.1 is experiencing the problem is Windows Server 2003 SP1 and it is the AD domain controller for the first domain created in the forest.

I downloaded LDAP Admin 3.4 and it installed fine and I was able to create a profile. I'm not going to spend any more time on the 3.3.1 version.
