Suggestions to make the schema viewer more useful (to me, at least)

Postby Patzer » Wed Jun 14, 2006 12:07 am

Many times when I'm looking at an object in AD, I wonder to myself "Is this attribute in the global catalog?" (IsMemberOfPartialAttributeSet = TRUE on the atttributeSchema object) or "Is this attribute indexed?" (searchFlags on the attributeSchema object)

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the Schema Viewer can answer either of those questions. As a result, I end up having to open the schema naming context and look directly.

It would be nice if the Schema Viewer showed all the attributes available on the attributeSchema object.

(Or perhaps provide a link to the schema to view in the regular list view but the user might not have a profile already established with the schema base DN.)

Thanks.

Yes, current LDAP Administrator version displays only standard LDAP schema attributes.

We are planning to support AD schema extras in the next major version which under development right now.
