Export search result with GUIDs

Postby robertregnier » Wed Jan 25, 2012 4:25 pm

HI There,

I would like to export my search results however some attributes have Guids and others Sids that are outputting as binary bytes which is unusable. How can I convert these values before export?

Thanks,
Robert

Hello Robert!
The Export Data Wizard has the 'Export raw values' option on the Formatings Options page. If you don't check this option, the GUID attribute will be presented in the export file as is (not in the binary format). But this option is always enabled for LDIF, DSMLv1 and DSMLv2 files as this file formats are standardized and it's not possible to have a valid LDIF, DSMLv1 or DSMLv2 document with not standardized data. As I understand, you are trying to use one of these file formats to export data from a directory. So, I can advise you to use CSV file format that can be easily modified into MS Excel and will be suitable for your purposes.
