i have the same problem as the guy in the above thread:



I have connected from an windows xp client/ldap browser 2.6 to a windows 2000 active directory.

Have you enabled referrals? (Properties->LDAP Settings tab)

same screenshot but in english and another User DN:

host: rhein
Base DN: dc=rhein,dc=de
User DN: cn=administrator,cn=users,dc=bodensee,dc=de

and the referrals was enabled as DEFAULT

What effect does enabled/disabled referrals have concerning ldap connections/tree structure? maybe you can explain in short sentence please

EVERYthing is fine it was as always the user error


i used as base DN dc=rhein which is my server name and not dc=bodensee what is my domain... hurraaaaaayyyy
