Export and import ldif

Postby Jefe » Mon Nov 05, 2007 3:18 pm

Hi guys.
It looks like several of you have the same problem i have:

I export data into a ldif file. The idea is quite simple. After the object has been deleted and restored, i want to import the exported data to have back all of my attributes.

I tried quite a while, but i allways get mistakes. i tried to check and uncheck the "exclude sam" field and so on but nothing works.

Could anyone of you post something like an instruction on how to correctly export and import data with tth ldap admin?

Thanks.

When exporting data LDAP Administrator generates LDIF files which can only be used to restore entries as a whole.

If you need to add, modify, replace or delete attributes in an existing entry you have to use special LDIF syntax.

Please read RFC2849 for details and examples.
