Cannot start v3 beta on W2K

Postby pchavaillaz » Thu Sep 18, 2003 9:41 am

I have downloaded and installed the v3 beta on my W2k machine and I just cannot start it :(
It hangs up with "Initializing LDAP module.....". I have v2.5.x installed in parallel, could that disturb v3 installation ?

Any other suggestion ?

We believe that installed v.2.5 could not be a reason for this hang-up, because 2.X and 3.X does not have any code in common.

Does this hang-up happen every time you start the application?
Do you have IE 6.0 installed?
Do you have a service pack installed?

Try renaming C:/Program Files/Common Files/Softerra Shared/Default Schema folder.

Seems to help indeed. Just FYI, the correct path is C:\ProgramFiles\Common Files\Softerra Shared\LDAP Administrator v.3\Default Schema

Will now try to connect to my Directories and let you know how it goes.

Thanks for help anyway

I have win 2k, sp4 and IE 6.0 and the same error with this path C:\Program Files\Common Files\Softerra Shared\LDAP Administrator v.3\Default Schema :-?
What do you mean about renaming?

This is a mysticism :o
I've renamed it to
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Softerra Shared\LDAP Administrator v.3\DefaultSchema
(deleted the last blank) and it began to work :) Thanks! :)

By renaming we mean changing the "Default Schema" folder name to something else. Or you can just remove this folder.
