Saving of Quick Search Attribute Groups

Postby thevince007 » Mon Jul 18, 2011 8:13 pm

I want to install instances of LDAP administrator on various desktops with a predefined set of customizations. The Save Configuration menu action does not seem to save Quick Search settings (e.g. I deleted attribute groups and added new ones). These settings do not appear to be saved either in the registry (like the menu customizations) nor the metabase.stg configuration file. Where are these saved or better, what's the best way to copy these settings to another workstation ?

I'm using LDAP Administrator 2011.1

Hello,

The only way to copy Quick Search settings to another desktop is to copy metabse.stg file. It's located in the user application data folder, e.g. "C:\Users\username\Local Settings\Softerra\LDAP Administrator 4\metabase.stg".

Are there any plans to add this functionality to the save / load configuration? We deploy LDAP Administrator to hundreds of desktops, and the default values for QuickSearch, search for a lot of nonexistent or unindexed attributes, that we need to get rid of when installing on a user's PC.

We have added this feature to our todo list.
