Export AD Group Members

Postby binaryspiral » Wed Jan 20, 2010 9:29 pm

I'd like to be able to use LDAP Administrator to export the members of an domain group into a CSV file that includes their name and email address.

I have searched the forums and researched other ldap commands, but for the life of me, I'm not able to find a way to do this. Any assistance would greatly be appreciated!

I can't imagine this is something that nobody has thought of before - am I just missing a setting or attacking this problem from the wrong angle?

I can drill down to the groups - and all I see are members. The exports from this only contain the cn, but I need the username and/or email addresses.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Basically it is not a simple task to get group membership in AD.

Try using Directory Search with the following filter:
(memberOf=XXX), where XXX is a DN of a domain group.

Note: such method won't work with group membership through primaryGroupID attribute and in some other cases.

Hello,

This functionality is available since 2013.2 version of LDAP Administrator . Please read this article.

Also, you can try to use Directory Search dialog with such LDAP filter
Code: Select all
(&(objectClass=user)(memberOf=CN=Group,DC=company,DC=com))

where instead of the CN=Group,DC=company,DC=com you should place a DN of you group.

Note: such method won't work with group membership through primaryGroupID attribute and in some other cases.
