SQL join information from different entries

Postby rb_ldap » Tue Nov 12, 2013 4:28 pm

I'm new to LDAP SQL but would like to combine/join information from two entries (resulting in one result entry).
Is this possible with LDAP SQL?

Example
Ou=People,....
uid=1234_orgA (attributes : function, telephoneNumber, …, parentPerson)
uid=1234_orgB (attributes : function, telephoneNumber, …, parentPerson)
where parentPerson is the "join" value.

Would have done something like this if SQL relational DB (I'm not using SQL "join" in this example):
select A.function, A.telephoneNumber, B.function, B.telephoneNumber
from "ou=People, ..." A, "ou=People, ..." B
where A.parentPerson = B.parentPerson

Is this possible with LDAP SQL?
I had hoped to find more/some examples here http://www.ldapadmin.com/resources/engl ... mples.html but the page does not exists anymore (404).
Thank you in advance!

Hi,

Thank you for the notification, that page is not working. We've fixed this issue.
Also, for your information, there is View Expmlesbutton on the SQL-Query dialog. Using it you can also view the examples of LDAP-SQL queries.

As for your question, no, now it's not possible to join the results of several LDAP-SQL queries.

Support,
thank you for your quick reply! Will have a look at the SQLExample button and the fixed page to learn more about SQL ldap.
