Application directory partition replicas can be created on any domain controller in the forest, not necessarily in the same domain as the initial domain controller, in which the partition was created.
An application directory partition replica can only exist on a domain controller that is running on Windows Server 2003 or later. |
To add a replica to an application directory partition:
Connect to an Active Directory server.
Click
Manage Application Partitions on the Active Directory toolbar.
Select a directory partition, to which you would like to add the replica.
Click Manage Replication.
Click the Add Replica button and choose the domain controller you would like to replicate the data with.
To delete a replica of an application directory partition:
Connect to an Active Directory server.
Click
Manage Application Partitions on the Active Directory toolbar.
Select a directory partition, from which you would like to delete the replica.
Click Manage Replication.
Choose a replica you would like to delete.
Click the Delete Replica button to delete the chosen replica.
